ASSESSMENT TO RECOMMEND CORRECTIONS AND IMPROVEMENTS TO REGIONAL INNOVATION ECOSYSTEM

Purpose

  • Institutional Innovation Assessment to recommend corrections and improvements to the existing regional innovation ecosystem. 

  • Recommend future growth initiatives to RutaN, a regional organization supporting innovation and technology-based economic development.

Outcomes            

  • Implementation of key project team recommendations. Greatly improved working and communications among regional players produced a stronger innovation culture. Improved relationships between universities and industry.

Participants & Process

  • Working with 15 universities, companies, and organizations over 3 months to improve commercialization of technologies. 

  • Planning for centralized support services. Evaluate and value IP and technologies, and take ideas to market. Improve the Innovation-R&D-Commercialization chain

  • Build management and entrepreneurial capacity locally. Leverage Colombia’s competencies to create a globally visible incubation and acceleration system for technology companies. Enable local, foreign, and multi-national companies to take advantage of innovations from Colombia.
